Outfit of the Day: Mint-Green Muse

I don’t know about you, but I really love casual style. However entranced I’ll always with over-the-top decadent outfits, there’s just something really pleasant about comfortable outfits that still give off a chic vibe. It’s a quality that I think can often be harder to pull off than a more extravagant look. Lately, I’ve been working on incorporating a lot more casual style into my daily wardrobe. I am the type to wish that I could practically dress to the nines every day, but let’s face it, there are lazy cold days and there are errands to run and we need our casual chic for those moments. We really do.

And today, I’m really enjoying Edie’s casual style. We have one of our Zumba classes tonight, but in the meantime, we’re just lying around in my room, laughing over world politics and listening to Florence and the Machine (shake it up, shake it up). It hit me a little while ago that I hadn’t yet given my dear blog any attention, so I decided to give you a short and sweet outfit of the day post, Edie-style. According to her, when she was getting dressed this morning, she envisioned pairing this super-cute outfit with a pair of nude flats – which she doesn’t actually own. So of course, I was pleased to lend her a pair of nude heels as substitute and then grab my camera and make a stand against today’s dreary lighting.

I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned that I’m obsessed with outfits that contain a strong mint-green element, and furthermore, I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned that it was actually Edie who got me started on mint-green. She’s been in love with that colour ever since we went on vacation to Florida in 2011; she had her nails done with a flower design that included mint-green, and bought OPI’s On Stranger Tides nail polish from the Pirates of the Carribean collection – which, while not exactly mint-green, could definitely be considered a member of the same colour family. And then there was this gap in space and time where nobody talked about mint-green or wore it at all, but now I feel like the colour is back in a big way and turning up all over the place.

Basically, I’m in love with Edie’s pants. How about you?

Edie’s confetti infinity scarf is Ann Taylor Loft, her white T-shirt is Liz Claiborne, and her mint-green corduroys are from American Eagle. She is borrowing my infamously comfortable PREDICTIONS nude heels that I went on at length about in my Cindy-Shoe-Who-Now post. She was also holding a cat at one point, but it became irate and we had to fire it from the photoshoot and terminate its modeling contract.
